Department of Commerce, PES PUC Celebrated ‘World Peace Day’ on 21.09.2017.
Sri. B.S Yeddurappa former Chief Minister and Member of Parliament participated in the ‘A-1 formula CET Programme’ jointly organized by ‘PES Trust, PES PUC’ and ‘Vijaya Vani News Daily’ and addressed the students. He felicitated Sm. Suchitra Devi Prasad who secured I Rank in M.com examination. He urged the students to work hard to reach their goal in life. More than thousand students from 110 PU Colleges participated in the training Programme.
PES PU College celebrated College day on 19th January 2017. Mr. Ashok, Prof. and Head of Mechanical dept, PES ITM who was the chief guest addressed the students and asked them to be firm minded in achieving their goal. Mr. Vijayendra, Treasurer PES-Trust presided over the function asked the students to make best of their college life and they have strive at achieving the goal in life. Principal Krishna Murthy. M.H was present on the occasion.
A training programme on CET and Competitive exams in association with Vijayavani newspaper was held at PESPUC on Dec 21st 2016. Formula book was released on this occasion. Sri B S Yeddyurappaji, Member of Parliament, Ex-Chief Minister - Karnataka addressed the PU students on this occasion.
District level PU College cultural competition was held in PES PU COLLEGE. The program was jointly organized by PES Trust, PU College and the Department of P.U. education Shimoga on 19th November 2016. More than 1,000 students I PUC & II PUC from different colleges of the district have actively participated in 22 events such as singing, mono acting, debate and quiz competitions. Sri B.Y Raghavendra, Managing Trustee, PES Trust inaugurated the program. Smt. Chaya Devi, D.D.P.U was the chief guest and Mr. Krishnamurthy M.H., Principal welcomed the gathering.
Mr. Umesh, Trainer on personality development addressed the students of PES PUC on 18th November 2016. He emphasized the need for stress on value based education which has its base on Indian philosophy especially thoughts of ‘Swami Vivekananda’ and ‘Ramakrishna Paramahamsa’. Principal Krishna Murthy M.H presided over the program.
The parents meeting were held on 18th of August 2016 for Science stream and 19th of August 2016 for Commerce stream. Parents of I PUC and II PUC Science and commerce students had attended the meeting. M.H Krishna Murthy, Principal PES PUC briefed the parents in details regarding rules and regulations, disciplines, academic plans, extra care taken as remedial measures for slow learners. Parents felt very much satisfied with the college system. Mrs. Bhuvaneshwari, Vice Principal PES PUC spoke on the disciplinary actions being taken in the college and gave information regarding the test and examination.
Welcome and Orientation programme for I PUC entrants was held on 8th June 2016. Smt. Arunadevi S. Y., Joint Secretary, PES TRUST Shivamogga, presided over the function. Sri. Krishna Murthy, Asst. commissioner, Shivamogga, was the chief guest. Sri. Krishna Murthy M. H., Principal, PES PUC, welcomed the guest and gathering.
The career of a student must always be balanced with both curricular as well as co-curricular activities. The overall development of a student is possible through management of both curricular and co-curricular activities. The joint secretary of PES TRUST, Shivamogga Smt. S. Y Aruna Devi, stated her point of view addressing the students about the same as a chief guest of PESPU college annual day function on 2nd of Jan 2016. The Head of the Department of the Electronic and Electric, PESITM, Dr. S. F Kodad, motivating the students said that, every student can achieve the success only through the conscious and uninterrupted efforts at attaining their aspiration. The principal PESPUC, Sri. M. H Krishnamurthy declaimed in his presidential speech that, the stage of PUC is of utmost important in every student’s life. The real hard work and polish of their efforts now can bring the best shine to their future life. The College vice-principal Smt. Bhuvaneshwari. G, delineated the college annual report. Five top scoring students from both science and commerce stream of the previous year were felicitated by the management of PES TRUST. Also the winners of the different college sports and cultural activities were awarded. Lecturer in English of PESPUC Mr. Bharath. P. N anchored the whole ceremony.
The formal inauguration function was presided by Smt. Arunadevi and the Chief Guest was Mrs. Indumathi H, DDPU, Shivamogga and the resource person Mr. Siraj Ahmed were in the stage. Mr. Bharath, English Lecturer PESPUC conveyed the programme. Mr. Krishnamurthy M H, Principal, PESPUC welcomed the gathering. Smt. Indumathi in her inaugural speech expressed the necessity of conducting such Refresher Course so as to equip the teachers to the need of the changing education system. She also thanked the PES Management for having organized the training programme. Smt. Arunadevi opined that such training programme would enable the teachers to improve their quality of Teaching and also helps them to have introspection. She also felt that there is a lot of responsibility on the shoulders of the English Teachers as they have to prepare the students to compete at the global level. The chief guest also felicitated by Smt. Arunadevi on the occasion. On this occasion more than 120 lecturers across the city have taken part in the training programme.
