Umadevi S. Y. brings a wealth of multi-faceted experience as founder of Candor, a payroll
company, and overseeing her family’s diverse portfolio of businesses which span across
manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality, automobiles, and real estate.
A pioneer in establishing robust business processes, Uma manages all finance, human
resources, and day-to-day operations of the group of companies. With 29 years of experience in
corporate management and strategic leadership, she effectively directs a wide range of
organizational efforts.
Uma’s entrepreneurial journey began after a challenging but successful 10-year tenure at BPL
Limited, where she gained invaluable insights into business opportunities. In 2004, driven by
her entrepreneurial spirit, Uma founded Candor Business Solutions, an outsourcing company
based in Bangalore, now catering to over 90 clients across diverse sectors.
Uma is also an educationist and serves as the CEO of the PES and SVVS Trusts. She also serves
as Member of the Technical Committee at KUPECA.
Uma holds a Master’s in Commerce (Grad. 1992) and is a gold medalist and first rank holder in
Business Taxation from Mysore University.
